The Rare Disease Foundation is very excited to announce that Ms. Alyson Doughty is joining our team as Fund Development and Program Officer, effective October 25, 2018.
Alyson is English/French bilingual and has both for-profit and not-for-profit experience as a business owner, employee, and volunteer. Her international training and experience in public affairs, fundraising, and relationship management will add to promoting the vision, goals and mission of the Rare Disease Foundation. As we continue to expand our reach and impact across Canada and the world Alyson will embody the values and core principles of the Rare Disease Foundation.
Alyson has recent experience as a communications intern at UNICEF (New York) and as a volunteer fund development officer with LYCEE FRANCAIS (New York). In addition, she completed a field service internship in project management and analysis with GLSEN, and worked as a Women’s Economic Empowerment team member with the International Rescue Committee.
Alyson is an overachiever with a smile and has a personable nature that will enable her to connect and work with other key members of our stakeholder community. She will provide direct administrative and coordination support to P2P Resource Networks across the country, lead/manage/support events and fundraisers, and build partnerships to help expand understanding of rare diseases and the brand of the Rare Disease Foundation.
In addition, Alyson will help lead the rollout of Sibling Appreciation Day events across the country to communities/volunteers that wish to take advantage of this amazing opportunity. Finally, she will take the lead to rollout a plan that increases awareness and engagement of RDF within the healthcare trainee and provider community (incl. medical schools).
Alyson is based in Montreal and will be able to lead/support events and fundraisers in the Montreal – Ottawa corridor. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
