Lace Up for Kids 2018
November 15 @ 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Lace Up for Kids is coming up on Thursday, November 15 at the Thunderbird Arena at UBC. We are so grateful to the UBC Rec students who take on the challenge of fundraising so that our Microgrant research program can fund care-focused rare disease projects.

UBC Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Arena
6:00 pm – 11:00 pm
The partnership between Rare Disease Foundation, UBC Recreation and the Children’s Hospital has been a long and fruitful one. It has helped the Rare Disease Foundation fund Microgrants in finding solutions across rare diseases around the country (and around the world) since 2009.
The event is family-focused and we’d love to see you there. The students love to lavish their attention on Rare Disease Foundation parents and our kids! They make such a fuss over us skating the opening lap at 6 pm. There is lots of time to form a team or join an existing team. Check out the links below. Not to worry if you aren’t keen on skating – there are lots of other activities, games and entertainment for the whole family throughout the evening!
The event kicks off with our Rare Disease families skating the opening lap at 6:00 pm. Please plan to arrive around 5:30 pm to get your skates rented and be ready to go for 6 pm.
If anyone in your family requires special equipment for the opening skate, please email the UBC coordinator, Alex Northley, and they will do their best to accommodate: email@example.com
Join a team (click on a team name and then click the ‘join team button’).
Can’t come out but still want to support the efforts for rare disease research? The money raised on November 16th will be allocated to research projects within weeks of the event! You can make a donation here towards a team, an individual, or to the event in general!
We hope to see you there.
