Our 16th call for applications resulted in 29 awards totaling over $100,000!
We want to recognize the support of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, the University of British Columbia Student Recreation Department, and our new US-based funding partner, Global Genes for making it possible for us to fund these 29 new projects. Global Genes’ involvement now allows us to fund US researchers in US currency, something that was not previously possible given the fluctuation in Canadian dollar exchange rates.
Funding went to 25 Canadian-based researchers, two US-based researchers at Harvard and Johns Hopkins University, and one each in the UK and Netherlands.
It’s always an exciting for us when new research ideas are proposed and funded! Check out the funded projects under the research tab of our website (May 2016). It should be updated very shortly.
