Mental Health Education
for Rare Disease Families
Rare Disease Foundation in partnership with REACH Trauma Response Consulting is excited to announce a FREE 5-part 1-hour long mental health education series dedicated to supporting families living with a rare disease.
It is well understood that the aspect of mental health often goes undiscussed by medical practitioners when confronting a rare disease diagnosis, specifically within children, and parents supporting their child with a rare disease.
This series is designed to fill that space by understanding the needs of not just the adult caregiver(s) and child patient but all family members living with a rare disease as a holistic unit. Through an educational approach, this series is designed to empower families with the strategies and tools to nurture their mental health to cope and thrive in everyday life. Each session will be focussed on the specific needs of an age group to ensure a complete range is covered. An activity/resource sheet will be provided at the end of each session for all attendees to practice outside of the session.
Thank you to everyone who attended our series!
